Nurture Sage Says Hello !

Greetings from Nurture Sage

My name is Nzinga Sibongile Job. Welcome to Nurture Sage, my educator blog.

I became an official teacher of music on September 15th 2008, at the age of 27, on the island of Tobago in the Caribbean.

I started teaching as a little girl, younger than age 10, with a toy blackboard and chalk.

I am a born expresser - a throat-chakra-dominant person. I wrote my first poem aged 6, directed my first play adaptation aged 8, and now I'm a 39 year-old singer/songwriter/music educator. I have spent my life dreaming about - and, until recently, getting bitter about my limitations in - gaining mastery in all the main modes of expression - drawing, painting, sculpting, writing, composing, acting, dancing, arranging, directing, orating.

I originally felt driven to learn to teach well, because it's the only job giving you any hands-on parenting training; after all, parenting is basically teaching children what they need to know to survive and thrive, and I really wanted to be a mother and to correct what I perceived as the mistakes of my parents and other elders while nurturing me.

Now - with less resentment and bitterness driving me than before - I'd like to use my teaching work in conjunction with my expressive artist work, and perhaps future music/art therapy work, to build myself into a sage about nurturing human souls so they thrive from within, regardless of external challenges.

This blog is about my reflections in service of that goal - to become a sage whose specialty is the nurture of individuals to their individual resonance with life - with the medium of music education.

Namaste Shalom to all.
